My name is Matthew Briggs, and I am the Senior Note & Comment Editor for the Journal of Race, Gender & Justice. I was born and raised in Burlington, IA, and graduated from the University of Iowa with my bachelor's in Political Science and Philosophy. I am passionate about social justice and legal public interest issues, including civil rights, voting rights, environmental issues, and issues of equity like poverty. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and outdoors, golfing, watching documentaries and mystery shows/movies, listening to podcasts, and learning new things! I look forward to the upcoming academic year with JGRJ.
