My name is Kathryn Linehan, and I am the Editor in Chief for Volume 30!

I am from Lake Orion, Michigan, and graduated from Michigan State University, where I studied Social Relations and Policy, Political Theory, and Women's and Gender Studies. Before attending law school, I spent a year in AmeriCorps, a national service program, and worked in fund development and community-centered planning for a nonprofit dedicated to economic development and affordable housing.

At Iowa Law, I served as a Research Assistant for Associate Dean Adrien K. Wing, participated in the Community Empowerment Law Project with Professor Daria Fischer Page, volunteered with Professor Brian Farrell and the Iowa Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission, and will be competing on the Environmental Law Moot Court Team.  Previously, I interned for the Michigan Department of Attorney General in the Health, Education, and Family Services Division. This summer, I was an estate planning intern for Plante Moran.

I love music and make a Spotify playlist for any reason and every season. In my free time, I enjoy painting and looking for funky finds in vintage and antique stores. One of my best finds was an 1890s court docket!

It is an honor to serve as Editor in Chief of JGRJ at such a consequential moment in our nation's political and legal landscape. As a journal, we have the opportunity and the responsibility to advance thoughtful scholarship that challenges, informs, and contributes to meaningful conversations about justice. I am grateful to work alongside an exceptional team of dedicated student leaders who share a deep commitment to our journal's mission.
