Amy J. Johnson
My name is Amy Johnson and I am a third-year law student at the University of Iowa College of Law. I graduated in 2022 with a B.A. in Ethics & Public Policy, Human Rights, and Philosophy from the University of Iowa. Before attending law school, I worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Johnson County and volunteered for four years as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence at the Domestic Violence Intervention Program. I served as a Summer 2024 Reproductive Justice Legal Fellow with the Sissy Farenthold Reproductive Justice Defense Project at the Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice, focusing on the intersection of criminal law and reproductive justice in Texas. I am the Senior Note and Comment Editor of the Journal of Gender, Race and Justice and an active participant of If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice, Pro-Bono Society, and The Iowa Student Health Law Association.
