My name is Amina Talic, and I am one of the Senior Managing Editors for Volume 30! I was born and raised in Iowa and attended Drake University, where I earned a degree in Secondary Science Education with a minor in Music – Piano Performance. 

In law school, I have served as a 1L Representative and Events Co-Coordinator for the Organization of Women Law Students and Staff (OWLSS), as well as a 2L Representative and now Communications Director for the Iowa Student Bar Association (ISBA). I am also a member of the Environmental Law Society (ELS) and First-Generation Lawyers (FGL). 

During my 1L summer, I worked at Iowa Legal Aid in Des Moines, where I primarily worked on family law matters and contributed to trial preparation and client communication. This summer, I have been working at the University of Iowa Law Library as a Research Lead Summer Intern. In this role, I have been strengthening my legal research skills and developing research guides to help people in both academic and public settings find information more efficiently and confidently. 

After graduation, I hope to practice environmental and regulatory law in a major Midwestern city or pursue a judicial clerkship. Outside of law school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, reading, traveling, and playing the piano.
