Jackson H.K. Geadelmann
My name is Jackson Geadelmann, but I go by Jack, and I am an articles editor for Volume 29. I am from Des Moines, Iowa and went to Luther College for my undergraduate degree, majoring in English and political science, and minoring in anthropology. While at Luther, I developed my passion for writing, journalism, and advocacy as Editor in Chief of Chips Newspaper, the college’s student-body news organization (that has been student-led since the 1880s!).
At Iowa Law, I have developed these passions into action as President of the Equal Justice Foundation, working to raise funds to support law students taking unpaid summer work in the public interest; and also as Co-President of the American Constitution Society, programming speakers on campus on topics ranging from the Iowa Legislature and Tinker v. Des Moines, to discussions on executive clemency and immigration law and reform. I am so excited to continue on these interests competing on the international law moot court team, through substantive work with the federal impact litigation clinic, and through JGRJ.
When I’m not doing law school, you can find me at the rec center either lap swimming or lifting, or at Film Scene watching the newest release. I am beyond excited to serve on JGRJ as an articles editor, and to help contribute to the Journal’s mission to advance legal scholarship that challenges who we are and how the law defines us.
