Non-disclosure agreements are commonly used tools in instances of sexual abuse in the Evangelical Church. Whitmer contends that use of these agreements is unconscionable and contrary a lawyer’s ethical duties. The continued use of NDAs in this context only perpetuates the harms they cover. Whitmer argues for a higher standard.
