Hello everyone! My name is Grace Tobin, and I am originally from Waukee, IA. I attended Iowa State University for my undergraduate degree, where I studied journalism and mass communications, as well as political science. I joined the Journal of Gender, Race, & Justice as a student writer because of its focus on service to the community via academic writing. With my background in journalism, I feel deeply that it is essential for ideas to be written down and published, in a form of intellectual protest of issues society faces. As a student writer for JGRJ, I joined a community of peers that feel equally passionate about social justice, and it was, and still is, exciting to be surrounded by such passionate people from who I continue to learn. I look forward to being inspired by our next group of student writers who will bring their unique voices to the journal and am equally excited to work with our wonderful Volume 26 Editorial Board.
