Tammy P

What is your fondest memory of your time spent working on The Journal of Gender, Race & Justice?

I believe they were called authority checks, when we all got together in a room and read and edited notes/articles. I enjoyed the connection to the other journal members and the collaboration.

What comes to mind when you recall your years at Iowa Law?

What still comes to mind 23 years later is how challenging those three years were, but they did prepare me mentally for the practice of law.

How do you maintain your composure under the particular demands of a legal career?

Practice. Honestly, I think it gets easier with time. The more you know your subject area, the easier it is to feel comfortable.

What was your note about and how have your thoughts and feelings on your note/note's subject changed since its publication?

The Mary Kay Letourneau case was fairly current when I was writing for the journal, so my note looked at statutory rape cases involving male victims.

What is one way that your time on JGRJ informed your work or later career path?

The collaboration and collective work effort to produce a publication informed my work for sure.
